What is an HGame / adult game?
An HGame is a video game with adult (18+) content — also called an adult game, eroge (エロゲ) in Japanese, or 小黃油 in Chinese communities. Genres range from visual novels (AVG/ADV), RPGs and simulation games to 3D action, released on Steam, DLsite, FANZA and doujin storefronts.
HGame, h-game, eroge, adult game — what is the difference?
They all mean the same thing, they just come from different places: HGame and H-Game come from the Japanese "ecchi"; eroge is the native Japanese term; adult game is the plain English name; Chinese communities say 小黃油 or 小黃遊. Whichever term you search for, you end up at the same titles.
What is an adult game patch? How do translation and uncensor patches differ?
An adult game patch (R18 patch / NSFW patch) is a modification file that unlocks the adult content, scenes or story restricted in a game — titles on Steam often ship as all-ages or censored versions first, and an official or fan-made patch restores the full uncensored edition. Translation patches localize the interface and script; R18 / 18+ unlock patches restore the cut adult scenes; uncensor patches remove mosaic censorship. Official patches come via the developer's site, FANZA, DLsite or a free adult DLC on Steam; community patches are made and shared by fans. They can coexist, but each must match your game version.
How do I install a patch?
First make sure the patch version matches your game version — a mismatch often causes crashes or errors. Most patches just need to be extracted and copied into the game's install root folder (on Steam: right-click the game and choose "Browse local files"); back up the original files first, and only download community patches from reputable sources. Every patch page on HGamer lists the matching version, file size and update date.
