What a Steam sale is
A Steam sale is a limited-time discount event on Steam. The big ones are Valve’s official seasonal sales — Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, once a year each, discounting tens of thousands of games at once, with the Summer and Winter sales being the largest and longest. On top of those come themed events like Steam Next Fest and Scream Fest, plus publisher-run joint sales like NTR Carnival on this page. Discounts apply worldwide for the duration and prices snap back the moment the event ends.
2026 Steam sale dates and the next sale
Valve’s official 2026 schedule (Pacific Time): Spring Sale Mar 19–26 and Summer Sale Jun 25 – Jul 9 (both over); next up are the Autumn Sale Oct 1–8, Steam Next Fest Oct 19–26, Scream Fest Oct 26 – Nov 2 and the Winter Sale Dec 17 – Jan 4, 2027. Official sales start at 10:00 AM Pacific. The next big one is the Autumn Sale on Oct 1 — and NTR Carnival runs Sep 22 – Oct 6, starting earlier and rolling straight into it.
How to buy cheap in a Steam sale
Wishlist the games you want — Steam notifies you when they go on discount; check historical lows before buying so you know the deal is real; and keep an eye on publisher joint sales beyond the seasonal ones — their cuts are often just as deep, and headline titles frequently hit new lows.
